Flash Mob!

It's time to show Sheffield what we think about the Digital Economy Bill.

If passed into law as it currently stands, the Bill would allow disconnection, website blocking and could precipitate the death of open Wi-Fi. Come to Sheffield Station protest and against disconnection without trial and censorship on the Internet.

We'll have flyers; just bring something with which to gag yourself (black tape, mask, "censored" sticker etc)

Instructions

  1. Bring a gag. Costumes, placards, t-shirts and other props are optional - use your imagination!
  2. Find one of the volunteers, who will be strategically positioned in the Flash Mob area, and collect a handful of flyers.
  3. At 6:00PM a whistle will blow three times. Gag yourself (make sure you can still breathe!) then try to tell the people around you about the problems with the Digital Economy Bill.
  4. If they don't understand you - give them a flyer!
  5. When you run out of flyers the flash-mob is over.

Don't forget to Tweet / Blog / Dent / Boo / Qik / film / photograph your flash-mob experience - the tag for the event is #debill

Please respect other protesters and passers-by. It is not the purpose of this demonstration to alarm, harass, intimidate or distress members of the public.

Most importantly - have fun!

Disconnection is a collective punishment.  It is unacceptable, unfair and disproportionate.
